Sweets as we know them today have been around since the 19th century. Sweet making has developed rapidly in the last hundred years. Sweets are available in a wide variety of textures, from soft and chewy to hard and brittle. Sweets are made by dissolving sugar in water or milk. The types of sweets depends on ingredients, sugar concentration, and the size of the sugar crystals, aeration, temperature, color and type of sugar used.
